S1 Marine adds dealer development director

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Mike Collins has joined S1 Marine, LLC, parent company of SeaStrike Boats and SportCraft Boats, as director of dealer development, the company said in a press release this morning.

“The addition of Mike Collins is a giant coup for S1 Marine,” said Tom Thies, S1 Marine president. “We’ve taken two of the most respected brands in the industry and rebuilt them over the past several years. Now we have added perhaps the preeminent specialist in dealer development to the S1 team. This is a man with 40 years of experience with some of the most famous brands in the industry.”

“I had been admiring the work Tom was doing in patiently reconstituting both the SeaStrike and now the SportCraft lines,” Collins said. “I watched as he purchased the former SportCraft plant in Perry, Fla., and converted it for production of both brands. And then I had the opportunity to join him and thought it was the perfect opportunity to help take the company to the next level.”

Collins will be responsible for the dealer networks for both brands, working with existing dealers and helping to target, sign and train additional dealers in key locations.

Since 1989, Collins has held a variety of management positions with American Marine Holdings in Sarasota, Fla., parent company of Donzi, ProLine and other brands. He most recently served as president of government services for AMH. From 1995 to 2004 he was president of AMH Corporate. Before that, he served three years as executive vice president of AMH Corporate. From 1989 to 1993 he was vice president of ProLine and from 1985 to 1989 was director of sales for Donzi Marine. He previously held positions with Chris Craft, WellCraft and Thunderbird/Formula.
