J.J. Marie to retire from Zodiac of North America

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Zodiac of North America President and CEO Jean-Jacques (J.J.) Marie is retiring from the company at the end of February, the company reported in a recent statement.

Howard French will now lead their Recreational Products division and Steve Seigel will take over their Military Products division, according to Zodiac. Marie, who has been with the Zodiac family of companies for 25 years, will assist with the transition as a consultant and remain on the Board of Directors.

“I have mixed emotions about retiring in such trying times, but I’m confident that Zodiac is in good shape and will weather this current storm well,” Marie said. “In fact, it’s an exciting time to be in our business and I hope all the young professionals realize what great times are ahead of them.”

“I want to thank J.J. for his terrific contributions over the last 25 years and his participation in building a thriving business,” said Howard French. “Everyone in the marine industry recognizes J.J. for building a world-class organization, contributing to the industry as a whole, and now he leaves behind a capable team.”

Marie’s career has included serving on the Boards of the NMMA, U.S. Coast Guard Foundation, Naval Special Warfare Foundation, Association for Rescue at Sea, American Boat & Yacht Council, and the National Boating Safety Advisory Council. He has received two U.S. Coast Guard Public Service Commendations, one UDT SEAL Association Distinguished Superior Service Award, the Charles F.
