Latitude Powerboats makes key hire

MIAMI – Latitude Industries, Inc., a high-performance, center console powerboat manufacturer, has named Orlando Hernandez as chief operating officer, the company said in a statement Wednesday.

Hernandez will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations and the company’s investments in manufacturing and product development, as well as head advisor to the board of directors.

“Luring my husband in was not an easy task,” said Carolina Hernandez, Latitude president and CEO. “Although Orlando has been involved in the development and structure of Latitude Powerboats from its inception, his many other business ventures and obligations did not allow him to come aboard full time. Now he’s totally committed to the progress of our growing company.”

Prior to joining Latitude, Hernandez was part owner and general manager of Oceanika Yachts USA, a Regal, Pursuit, Caravelle and Nautic Star dealership. He is also the president of Navigator International Yacht Sales and has served in many managerial positions since 1990, when he started his career with Champion Marine.
