VONORE, Tenn. – MasterCraft has appointed Phil Walker to fill the newly created position of Webmaster/eBusiness specialist, according to a press release from the company Wednesday. Walker joins MasterCraft with extensive experience, having worked as a web services and project manager over the last several years at Philips Consumer Electronics.
Walker has held various positions during his career such as inventory manager and corporate internal control manager. It was his project management expertise and affinity for eBusiness that eventually led him to a career in information technology. After graduating with a master’s in organization management, Walker eventually became the Web services manager for Philips where he improved retail and customer experience through customer service solutions.
“MasterCraft has unparalleled brand equity and a strong customer experience,” said David Kirkland, information technology director for MasterCraft. “But branding and the customer experience are forever being changed by the Internet. We know Phil will do an incredible job to ensure MasterCraft benefits from the Internet rather than being run over by it.”
Walker will oversee all phases of Web site development and design, database integration and maintenance, and will work hand-in-hand with the sales and marketing departments to create robust CRM solutions, ranging from lead management to improving service to existing customers. With the singular goal of total customer ownership, from data integrity to relationship building, Walker said he is thrilled to be at MasterCraft.
“Not only do I admire MasterCraft’s ability to design and build quality boats but I am equally impressed with their focus on improving the customer experience both online and out in the field,” Walker said. “I am excited to be at a company that desires to be on the cutting edge in every facet of their business and that realizes the importance of effective eBusiness.”
