Marine Mover – GEM Products hires account manager to manage growth

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – GEM Products, a manufacturer of stainless steel marine hardware, has hired a new account manager to help it manage YTD sales growth of 20 percent through the second quarter, the company reported in a recent statement.

The new account manager is GEM’s 15th new hire in just 2 years for the 40 plus employee company.

Danny Moore, a 30-year veteran of the retail industry, comes to GEM from Jefferies Foods, where he worked as a sales manager. Moore also held positions at Sea Breeze Seafood and PFG Powell and was the director of Purchasing at Amelia Island Plantation.

In addition to Moore, GEM has created new positions in Inside and Outside Sales, Quality Control, Marketing and Engineering. Within the past year, major additions included a new Engineering Manager and Supply Chain Manager.

These aggressive additions have been made in order to meet an increase in demand for GEM’s marine stainless steel hardware products, the company reported. In fact, during the past seven years, GEM has had an annual average sales growth of 30 percent, going from $2 million in annual sales to close to $12 million in sales today. Most recently, the company was recognized by the Jacksonville Business Journal as one of the Fastest Growing Companies in Northeast Florida.
