Yamaha Marine makes donation to support Tennessee conservation
Yamaha Marine recently made several donations to organizations that support the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the group’s mission to maintain and preserve the Tennessee Valley. Yamaha also presented the TVA with a plaque of appreciation for the organization’s work protecting the state’s natural resources.
“The TVA appreciates the acknowledgement of our stewardship efforts to protect and improve water resources and protect aquatic habitats,” said Bucky Edmondson, TVA Director of Natural Resources. “We look forward to working with our partners in the future to maintain fisheries in the Tennessee River watershed.”
Yamaha donated $5,000 each to “Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful” and “The Tennessee Wildlife Federation.” “Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful” is an affiliate of the “Keep America Beautiful” organization that hosts cleanup events along the Tennessee River. To date, the group has removed nearly 65,000 pounds of trash from the river.
“The Tennessee Wildlife Federation” is one of the original conservation organizations in the state of Tennessee. The group brings together and represents varied interests of multiple outdoor organizations, and works with private and government groups to promote best practices in conservation.
In addition, Yamaha and G3 Boats donated a new G3 Gator Tough 15 DK powered by a Yamaha F25 portable outboard to “The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation.” The group will use the boat to aid with trash cleanup efforts along the Tennessee River. “The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation” is the largest conservation nonprofit in the state of Tennessee, and a partner of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The organization assists the agency with the acquisition and management of property for hunting and conservation, hunter and angler education and fundraising for conservation-focused projects statewide.
“Conservation and sustainability practices are critical in the preservation of our public waterways for future generations,” said Martin Peters, Senior Manager, Government Relations. “Yamaha is proud of supporting these organizations associated with the TVA, and we look forward to the good work they will continue to do for the waterways in the Tennessee Valley.”
