Industry mourns Campion Marine founder

Ross Campion Jardine, the founder of Canada’s Campion Marine, has passed away at the age of 82.

Jardine, a 2012 inductee into the NMMA Canada Hall of Fame, had been involved in sports his entire life, most notable as a hockey player and boater. Before starting Campion Marine in 1983, he also owned Kamloops Sport Shop, Kamsport Marine and Jardine Turf Farm.

He was also a long-time player and coach in the local hockey community.

“Ross dedicated his career to helping grow recreational boating while creating a thriving business in Canada and internationally. His dedication to recreational boating and leadership over the years had a significant, positive impact on the marine industry,” NMMA said in a statement.
