ARLINGTON, Va. — The American Composites Manufacturers Association has created two new Certified Composites Technician programs: light resin transfer molding and wind blade repair.
The light resin transfer molding class will address processes and the latest technologies necessary to switch to this type of vacuum infusion. The wind blade repair course will cover repair of wind turbine blades and its application to other industries, such asautomotive, aviation, marine, sports and recreation, and research and development.
The CCT program was created to train employees on the state-of-the-art techniques for manufacturing to improve product quality and reduce waste and inefficiency. ACMA said it designed the program to elevate standards in the industry, enhance individual performance and recognize those who demonstrate a fundamental level of proficiency in the composites industry.
