Greater Philadelphia Boat Water Sports Show returns

PHILADELPHIA — After what will be a four-year hiatus, the Greater Philadelphia Boat Water Sports Show is slated to return here March 23-26, 2006. It will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

The Greater Philadelphia Boat Water Sports Show is produced by MAC Events of Spring Lake, N.J., a producer of business-to-consumer special-interest shows in a variety of industries and markets..

“With the large number of boating and fishing enthusiasts in this area, we thought it was time for Philadelphia to host a spectacular show like the one we’re planning,” said Kevin McLaughlin of MAC Events in Spring Lake, N.J., the show’s producer. “The Convention Center is the perfect venue to showcase what’s new in boating. We expect more than 15,000 attendees from all over the mid-Atlantic region.”

Show producers say that the show will feature 175 exhibitors, 225,000 sq. ft. of exhibits, hundreds of salt- and freshwater boats up to 40 ft. in length, and more than $12 million of boats and equipment on display.

A number of events for kids and the whole family are being planned for the three-day show. The Fisherman Magazine will present free fresh- and saltwater fishing clinics and seminars throughout the show. Experts will be on hand to share their fishing tips and techniques specifically for anglers.

Founded in 1968, the family-owned MAC Events annually produces 19 recreation vehicle, boat, home and garden, and flower shows in Colorado, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
