BoatTEST.com begins megayacht coverage

STAMFORD, Conn. – BoatTEST Publishing will begin coverage of megayachts 80-ft. and larger, the company said in a release Friday.

The upcoming megayacht tests and videos will be located in a new area on BoatTEST.com called “Megayacht Harbor,” and will also be displayed on the company’s soon-to-be-launched sister site, www.megayachttest.com.

Online coverage, which will begin in September with tests of several new Ferretti yachts ranging in size from 80 – 112 ft., is being produced in cooperation with MarineMax of Clearwater, Fla.

“There are only a handful of people in the world capable of purchasing and maintaining yachts of this size, and many of them may have primary residences outside the U.S.,” said BoatTEST.com’s publisher Capt. Chris Kelly. “For that reason, the Web is the perfect vehicle for them and their captains to watch detailed video tours of yachts they may consider for purchase, and we are thrilled to be working with MarineMax on this new endeavor.”

The initial tests will be hosted on-camera by BoatTEST.com partners Jeff Hammond, founding publisher of Power & Motoryacht magazine, and Kelly, a former executive editor of PMY.

The new tests and videos will be produced in time for the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show, and will be playing on the respective yacht’s flat-panel LCD TV screens during the show, as well as being streamed on www.marinemax.com.
