BoatFix.com reports 50-percent sales increase

MAYS LANDING, N.J. – BoatFix.com sales for the year ending December 31 were up 50 percent from 2003, the Internet site reported in a recent statement. This marks the fourth straight year in which sales have increased 50 percent or more year over year, according to BoatFix.com.

Sales on the company’s BoatFixPro.com Web site, geared toward independent marine contractors and mechanics, were up over 60 percent from the prior year, the company added.

“We have not seen, nor do we forecast, any weakness in the marine market,” said George Van Parys, BoatFix president. “While we attribute half of our growth to improvements we have made to our Web sites and improving consumer acceptance of online ordering, the other half is just increased demand.”

Van Parys added that the company anticipates similar growth for 2005.

“There is no doubt the internet market will continue to expand rapidly, providing all boaters everywhere with a huge selection of competitively priced products. The boater in Wyoming now has the same product selection as the boater in Florida or New York,” he concluded.

BoatFix, Inc. operates a variety of marine related Web sites and sponsors BoaterEd.com, a boating forum dedicated to boating safety, as well as the Bayliner Owner’s Club at baylinerownersclub.org.
