Southco Marine names new general manager

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – With Rich Hipp leaving Southco Marine to accept new responsibilities for its parent company, Ralph Ulisse, global general manager of Southco Inc.’s Transportation Business Unit, will also assume responsibilities for directing Southco’s Marine, Recreational Vehicles and Caravan (MRC) Business Unit, effective Nov. 1, the company reported in a recent statement.

Hipp, who led Southco Marine since its creation in 2004, was recently appointed to the position of managing director of Southco’s Asia Pacific region in Hong Kong.

In making the announcement, Brian McNeill, president and CEO of Southco, said the MRC team will benefit from Ralph Ulisse’s leadership skills as he continues to drive the “one-look, one-lock” strategy for the marine marketplace. In addition, McNeill noted that since the boat building industry often models itself after automotive trends, Ulisse’s transportation sector experience will be an asset for Southco Marine and its customers.

The balance of the Southco MRC management team remains relatively unchanged, according to the company. Leif Andersson, currently the European Union general manager for Southco Marine located in Sweden, will take on additional global leadership responsibilities and supervision of Pernilla Lindberg-Eriksson, the global marketing manager for the marine business. The team in Rockledge, Fla. will consist of Oren Cotton as director of product innovation, Mike Hottinger as senior business development manager, Polly Anderberg, operations supervisor, and Dan Hottinger as customer service supervisor.
