Yachtcouncil.org appoints new vice president
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Yachtcouncil.org, a multiple listing system and search engine, has named Barbara Tierney as vice president, the company said in a press release Thursday.
“Barbara Tierney has a successful 25 year career in the yacht brokerage industry.” said Steve Myers, president of Marine Solutions, the parent company of Yachtcouncil.org. “Barbara was instrumental in the original concept and design of Yachtcouncil.org from the inception in 2000.”
Tierney has been the Florida Yacht Brokers Association president, a director of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and founding president of the International Yacht Council. She was formerly a yacht broker with Merrill-Stevens Yachts and Bradford Yacht Sales.
“As a broker and independent contractor, you learn quickly how to qualify buyers, how to build relationships with clients and other brokers, and how to make the most efficient use of your time,” Tierney said. “The professional associations and Yachtcouncil.org are working hand in hand to create standards and tools to serve the yachting industry and the buying public. We have new features in development now that will take the yachting industry into the next era of the Internet.”
