Marinas International welcomes back Scheimann
DALLAS – Marinas International has hired Kirby Scheimann, CMM, to the M.I. team, the company said in a press release Friday. Scheimann has been appointed managing director of Marinas International’s management division.
“We are looking at several models of developing new business through our management division,” said Stan Johnson, president of Marinas International. “We feel Kirby’s experience, expertise and skill sets are a perfect fit for growing this segment of Marinas International.”
Scheimann has spent the past five and a half years as general manager of Aqualand Marina and acted as regional manager, with full accountability for three marinas containing approximately 4,000 slips at its peak, for much of that time. Scheimann is also on the faculty of the International Marina Institute, has served as chairperson of the 2004 National Marina Day Committee, and also serves as an officer in the Metro Atlanta Marine Trade Association and president of the Marina Operators of Lake Lanier.
“Marinas International already offers the highest standards in our industry,” Scheimann said. “Working with private ownership, local communities, developers, as well as State and Federal segments which are evolving, we see a wide variety of potential partnerships for the management division. The services we are able to provide are far reaching, and make great economic sense.”
“Kirby brings a real passion to the marina field,” said Marshall Funk, Marinas International CEO. “Beyond marina management and development, he also excels in customer service, marketing and the personal touches our business partners, as well as their customers, are looking for.”
