New SCMA officers elected
CHARLESTON, S.C. — The Board of Directors of the South Carolina Marina Association (SCMA) has announced that it has elected its new officers and restructured its committees.
Milt Hazel is the harbormaster at Reserve Harbor Marina in Pawleys Island, S.C., was chosen as the association’s new president. Kim Marsahll , lead broker at Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales in Charleston was elected treasurer. Joanie Malindzak, an instructor and captain with Carolina Captains in Mt. Pleasant, was elected secretary.
Other Board members include Hal Drotor, Belle Isle Marina in Georgetown, Suzi DuRant (ex-officio), Palmetto Props and The Boating News, Ravenel, Niles Layman, Cummins Atlantic, Summerville, John Spence, Charleston Boatworks, Tom Wilson (alternate), Port Royal Landing Marina, and Charles Woods, River Hills Marina Club, Lake Wylie.
The Board has also replaced the Budget Committee with the Audit Committee. Kim Marshall will serve as Chairman of the Budget Committee. The Communications Committee has also been formed, and Suzi DuRant has been named the chairman.
