Bay Area Recycling for Charities of Cedar, Mich., in partnership with shrink wrap supplier Dr. Shrink of Manistee, Mich., have announced their 2010 Shrink Wrap Recycling Program. The program offers an environmentally friendly option to local boat storage facilities, marinas and boat owners. Marinas can schedule a pick-up with Bay Area Recycling. There will be a charge of $2.50 per 40-gallon bag. Profits from the effort are then donated to local charities.
Scott Morgan has joined Cobham Life Support ACR Products as the director of Business Development – Satellite Communications. Morgan brings over 25 years of experience and knowledge in the U.S. Search and Rescue program, both military and civilian. A retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel, Morgan was the former Commander of the U.S. Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, Langley Air Force Base, Va., overseeing both military and civilian SAR operations. Morgan holds a Ph.D. in International Management from Union Institute and University and a Masters of Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Accon Marine has expanded one of its longtime sales rep’s territory and appointed the Haimes Coleman Group to cover Florida. The Haimes Coleman Group also currently represents the marine hardware manufacturer in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. “We’ve worked with Haimes Coleman for years and they know our products and company direction very well,” Accon Marine president Bernie Czipri said in a release. “Since they’ve developed long-lasting relationships with distributors, boatbuilders and dealers, it seemed like the right choice to have them cover Florida when our previous rep for the state retired.”
Twin Disc, Inc. recently elected Michael C. Smiley to the company’s Board of Directors, effective April 16. Smiley will stand for reelection at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in October 2010. Since May 2008, Smiley has served as chief financial officer of Zebra Technologies Corp., a provider of technology solutions used to identify, track, and manage the deployment of critical assets for improved business efficiency.
Sterling Yacht Sales, Inc. has signed its first dealer agreement with Absolute Yachts, according to a release from Sterling’s parent company, TBC Global News Network. Absolute is a manufacturer of yachts ranging in size from 40 to 70 feet in length. Under the agreement, Sterling Yachts is now the selling and servicing dealer for Absolute Yachts for the South East region of the United States. CEO Glenn McMachen stated, “We are pleased to complete this agreement with our Italian friends at Absolute. With my experience as a dealer over the years, our company stands ready to assist our clients in obtaining the finest yachts available. The Absolute model line is just an example of this.”
