VERNON, British Columbia — Aluminum boat manufacturer WestWinn Group plans to celebrate 50 years in business by opening a new 52,000-square foot facility, the company reported in a recent release. Christened the WestWinn Group Center of Excellence, the new complex is set to open in the spring.
The new center will increase efficiencies and accelerate research and development, according to the company, while providing space for lean manufacturing processes and equipment to accommodate flexible manufacturing. The facility will employ 85 workers. and employ an environmentally friendly heat recovery system that will reduce gas consumption, WestWinn said.
The company sells its all-welded aluminum boats globally under the brands Jetcraft, Harbercraft and Kingfisher boats and serves the pleasure, sportfishing, commercial and research markets.
