ABC awards dinner honors eight industry leaders

WASHINGTON – The National Marine Manufacturers Association honored eight marine industry leaders and presented its Admirals Circle Award Monday night during the American Boating Congress Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation.

NMMA Chairman Bill Barrington, who presented the awards, said those being recognized were, “Some of the people who have shown their dedication to the industry’s government relations objectives, and one person who has advocated on our behalf from the floor of the House of Representatives.”

The first award recipient was Mark Yearn of Universal Insurance Services, Inc., who was recognized by the Marine Operators Association of America for his support and advocacy of the Recreational Marine Employment Act.

Kawasaki Motors’ Roger Hagie received the Personal Watercraft Industry Association Advocacy Award for what Barrington called a “career-long advocacy of safe and responsible watercraft use.”
