LEXINGTON, Ky. – The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators will be holding its first installment of the new Boating Law Administrator (BLA) Academy this week, which is designed to give new BLA’s a broad understanding of the diverse recreational boating community, according to a NASBLA release.
The Academy begins with a week of learning workshops in Lexington and Central Kentucky, which will features speakers and sessions that will help new BLAs acquire the tools necessary for the position.
Following the workshop, participants will take part in continuing education through e-mail and teleconferences, allowing for peer discussion and guest speakers, according to the release. Upon completion, participants will graduate from the BLA Academy at the NASBLA Spring BLA Workshop in early March 2012.
“NASBLA is excited to offer this learning opportunity for new BLAs. Academy graduates will be well?prepared for service and leadership within their state, NASBLA and the National Recreational Boating Safety community,” John Johnson, NASBLA Executive Director, said in the release.
