One year of blogging: What do you think?

If you take a look at this blog’s archives, you’ll notice that they go back to March 2009. Specifically, our first post — in which Matt wrote about “Going Girly” — was published on March 27, 2009.

That means tomorrow the blog turns 1.

When Boating Industry Insider debuted, our staff had a lot of experience covering the marine industry through news and feature stories, but blogging was new to most of us. Still, we were busy telling you about how important it was to get your feet wet in the brave new world of online social media, so we figured we’d better jump in ourselves.

One year in, we’re still finding our voice. Throughout the year, however, it has been refreshing to share some of our personal experiences in the industry and connect them to the topics we cover in the magazine and on boating-industry.com.

Likewise, it has been nice to hear about your personal experiences. Comments you’ve made here and on our other social network sites have inspired us and helped shape some of our more traditional industry coverage.

In the next year, we’ve committed to giving this blog even more attention and hopefully trying some new things along the way. If you have any suggestions, please post them: we’re always anxious to hear what you have to say.

Thanks for giving this blog a try in its first year – and here’s to an even better year two!
