Marine Mover – Zodiac of North America appoints new vice president

STEVENSVILLE, Md. – Zodiac of North America has appointed Howard French as vice president and general manager of ZNA’s Recreational Sector, the company said in a recent statement.

In this position, French will oversee the Recreational Sector’s sales and marketing initiatives for its full lines of Zodiac, AVON and Bombard brands, including inflatable boats, rigid-hull inflatable boats (RIBs), life rafts and safety equipment. He will report to ZNA president and CEO JJ. Marie.

“Howard’s strong background in the marine industry and his lengthy experience with Zodiac makes him a great asset to the recreational team,” said Marie. “He will lead Zodiac’s efforts to expand its presence in the recreational market, improve customer and dealer relations, and target product innovations.”

French has an extensive background in the marine industry. He served as vice president of finance and operations for ZNA, from 1986 to 2000. Prior to rejoining ZNA’s senior management team, he served as president of the Zodiac Pools Division in North America, from 2000 to 2004.

ZNA also said Recreational Sector vice president Ed Washburn had been appointed to a new position as vice president for national accounts and special projects. In his new position, Washburn will manage the Recreational Sector’s large dealer network accounts and private label programs, including West Marine and Boater’s World. He will also oversee ZNA’s special marketing partnerships with national organizations, including a private program developed last year with US SAILING.
