Marine Mover: McCafferty joins Tigé as product representative

ABILENE, Texas — Chris McCafferty has been appointed as Tigé Boats’ new product representative, the company announced November 10.

In his new position, McCafferty will be responsible for handling specific East Coast and international dealer accounts while assisting those dealers in increasing market share through product and customer service training.

He will also be heading-up logistical efforts associated with magazine boat tests, pro contests, special events and photo shoots, according to the company.

McCafferty first joined Tigé as a dealer in 2001 after founding Midland Marine with his father, Mick McCafferty, in Castle Donnington, Derby, UK. During his time at Midland Marine, McCafferty was involved in day to day sales, customer service and boat servicing. He also began helping with Tigé special events including the WWC World Wakeboarding Championships and the US OPEN.

In November 2002, McCafferty decided to move to the United States and join the Tigé corporate team in Abilene, Texas as its Quality, Dealer Preparation and Lake Test manager.

In the past year, McCafferty has helped improve Tigé’s quality and control processes, attended numerous boat shows and provided boat set up at events such as the 2003 WWC World Wakeboarding Championships in Sydney, Australia, the company stated.

McCafferty was a member of the 1985 UK National Water Ski Squad, the 1996 UK National Division Champion, and the manager of the Churchwilne Water Ski School and the Churchwilne Water Sports Club.

During his tenure in the UK, McCafferty gained experience in watersports sales by selling water ski equipment, providing new boat on-water demonstrations for customers at his ski school, participating in UK retail boat shows and driving special events such as the Wakeboard European Pro Tour and the first IWSF European Wakeboarding Championships, the company reported.

“Chris is a huge asset for our sales team,” said Tigé President Charlie Pigeon. “He has had the unique opportunity to experience life as a water ski athlete, as a boat dealer and as a boat manufacturer. This can only add more dimension and depth to our growing sales department.”
