OneWater Marine acquires Texas Sport Boats
Atlanta-based OneWater Marine Holdings has added Texas Sport Boats of Conroe, Texas, to its network of dealerships.
Lee and Cathy LaVergne, former owners of Texas Sport Boats will continue to operate the dealership under the Texas Sport Boats name. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“As we’ve seen continued growth in the Houston area, and having maxed out the capacity of our existing Houston location, expanding our presence in that area made strategic sense,” said Anthony Aisquith, COO of OneWater Marine Holdings. “Adding Texas Sport Boats also allows us to expand into the most popular boat segment in that market, saltwater fishing boats, with the pickup of the Key West brand.”
Texas Sports Boats is the second Houston-area location for OneWater, joining SMG Wake Houston, also located in Conroe.
“We’re excited to join an aggressively growing organization that has a big vision for the future,” said Lee LaVergne. “Joining OneWater allows us to offer greater benefits and opportunities to our employees and customers that we couldn’t otherwise offer as an independent dealer.”
Texas Sport Boats will continue to operate from its current location on I-45 South in Conroe. All existing personnel will remain with the company.
It is the third acquisition this year for OneWater, which was formed in 2014 with the merger of Singleton Marine and Legendary Marine. In June, the company added Kentucky’s Lookout Marine and Sea Ray of Lake Cumberland. That followed the February acquisition of Florida-based SunDance Marine. OneWater has more than 30 locations stretching from the East Coast to Texas.
