MYSTIC, Conn. — The Mystic Seaport Museum of the American Sea will host the 20th Annual Antique Marine Engine Exposition on Aug. 20-21.
The display will include nearly 300 examples of early marine engines, included some from the museum’s own collection.
There will be a special feature of engines from the Palmer Engine Co. of Cos Cob., Sonn., which was one of the early pioneers of gas marine motors, starting in 1894. This will be the biggest public display of Palmers since the factory shut down. Other engines on display include those made by Evinrude, Johnson, Herreshoff and Kriebel.
