WindRider looks to international expansion

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Sailboat maker WindRider International is implementing an international sales strategy, according to an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

The company was purchased by father-and-son team Dean and Robert Sanberg in June, 2010. The two hope that an international expansion will even out the seasonal nature of the business.

So far, the company has received orders from Brazil, Chile, Australia, Canada, Sweden and Russia. Dean Sanberg hopes to triple company sales to $965,000 in 2011. He’s looking for a 10-year sales growth to $15 million annually, with overseas sales representing half of business.
