JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Fuel efficiency has become a greater factor for boat buyers and builders, according to an article in the Florida Times Union.
Journalist Chris Anderson explores the trend of fuel efficiency, which includes lighter boats and the introduction of hybrid and electric engines. The trend is being driven by higher gas prices and increased awareness of emissions.
“Fuel efficiency is the number one thing,” Mark Allen, owner of First Coast Honda in St. Augustine said in the article. “I’m sure everybody’s going to be testing that [electric boats] here not too long from now.”
