LIVONIA, Mich. – Education on the potential risks of E15 gasoline will be a featured topic at the Spring Boating Expo in Michigan.
Boat engines are not approved for the fuel, which the EPA has said can be used in on-highway vehicles starting with the 2001 model year.
“Only one small label is required on the pump to warn boaters of the 50 percent increase in ethanol,” said Show Manager John Ropp. “We feel the need to educate boaters of the potential for engine damage when using E15 … We see our boat show as an effective means to educate a large number of boaters.”
The show will take place on May 17-20 in Novi, Mich.
