In Brief: Seakeeper, BoatU.S., Thetford Marine, Denison Yacht Sales
Seakeeper, which produces a line of Gyro Stabilization Systems, has brought on ComMar Sales to handle the East Coast, South, Gulf Coast and Florida, according to a release from Seakeeper. “We’re very excited to have ComMar Sales on board,” said Seakeeper VP of Sales and Marketing John Kermet. “With their extensive marine experience and established relationships, they’ll make an excellent addition to our Seakeeper sales team.”
The BoatU.S. Foundation is expanding its Emergency Position Indicating Rescue Beacon (EPIRB) Rental Program, the group reported in a release. The Foundation has added GPIRBs (Global Position Indicating Radio Beacons), which it said are easier to ship, easier to store and provide a more accurate location fix. The new GPIRBs rent for $65 a week.
Thetford Marine is a winner of this year’s Corp! Magazine Going Green Awards. Thetford was selected as a Green Industry Innovator for its green cleaning formulas for boaters. Five of Thetford’s marine care products are Design for the Environment (DfE)-recognized, a program the EPA started to promote risk reduction through pollution prevention.
Yacht brokerage and charter firm Denison Yacht Sales has been designated as the exclusive California dealer for Dufour Yachts’ line of sailing yachts. Dufour Yachts, based in France, offers a variety of cruising sailing yachts from 32 to 52 feet.
