Cook Composites, Gibson Fiberglass increase materials prices

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP) and Gibson Fiberglass both announced price increases recently in separate releases.

CCP will implement a $0.05 per pound price increase for all gel coats, unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins as well as all cleaners materials. New pricing will take effect for shipments on or after March 7.

Gibson Fiberglass announced an increase of $0.06 per pound to $0.09 per pound for all fiberglass materials, including direct and multi-end roving products, chopped strands for BMC and thermoplastics, chopped strand mat, woven roving, and all other roll goods. The increase applies to all shipments delivered on or after April 1.

CCP cited continued raw material cost escalation of the chemical feedstock and energy associated with the manufacture of its products for the increase.

Joe Peng, president of Gibson Fiberglass, said freight costs were behind his company’s price increases.
