KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Sea Ray Boats will auction surplus equipment Wednesday, according to a report from the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Furrow Auction Co. will conduct the sale, which will be at 10 a.m. at Brunswick Boat Group Logistics in Knoxville.
An inspection of items will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Items include five Peterbilt and Kenworth tractors, metal fabricating equipment, woodworking machinery, upholstery, sewing equipment, forklifts, tools and other items.
Sea Ray’s parent company, Brunswick Corp., has idled two plants in the Knoxville area this year, suspending about 540 jobs. The company’s Knoxville Plant, which closed in July, is scheduled to reopen Oct. 5. Its Riverview Plant, which shut down in January, has been idled indefinitely.
Brunswick spokesman Dan Kubera told the News Sentinel the auction was “just cleaning out the attic.”
