J.D. Power to announce results Feb. 14
TROY Mich. – Results of the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Boat Competitive Information Study will be announced Feb. 14 at 9:30 a.m. in room A201 of the Miami Beach Convention Center, during the Miami International Boat Show, the company reported in a release yesterday.
Frank Forkin, senior vice president at J.D. Power and Associates, Todd Markusic, senior director of research in the marine practice at J.D. Power and Associates and Project Manager Melissa Davis, will announce the study results and present the awards to the highest-ranked boat and engine manufacturers.
The 2008 Marine Engine Competitive Information Study asks boat owners about their on-the-water experience with their outboard, sterndrive or inboard boat engine. The study, which includes 12 engine brands, measures quality and customer satisfaction based on a variety of engine factors, including ease of starting, acceleration, reliability and fuel consumption.
It provides an analysis of product quality, customer satisfaction and dealer sales and service, and includes 68 boat brands in seven boat segments: fiberglass bass boats, small runabouts (16-19 feet), large runabouts (20-29 feet), express cruisers (24-33 feet), coastal fishing (17-28 feet), pontoons and ski/wakeboard boats.
