Four-year sales surge for Acme

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Total sales for prop manufacturer Acme Propellers have increased between 30 and 40 percent each year since 2002, the company said in a recent release.

Acme president Tom Benedict credits the growth to relationships with additional OEMs, as well as a focus on building its dealer network to meet aftermarket demand.

Acme’s success has also led to a significant increase in manufacturing space. Over a five year period, the company expanded from one to three locations and currently has 56,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space.

“I’m very pleased with the growth we’re experiencing,” Benedict said. “Of course, I’d like to see us do more!. I look forward to accomplishing just that over the next few years.”

Building on its success in foundry applications and CNC production machining for the automotive and aerospace markets, Acme designs and manufactures all of its propellers in the US. The company currently has the capability to produce props up to 48″ in diameter.
