ACR to offer new technologies

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – ACR-branded bridge information technologies from ACR Electronics, Inc. will, with agency approvals, soon be made available to recreational yachting customers through a network of dealers and installers around the world, the company said in a release yesterday.

The new products stem from the earlier announced alliance with Norwegian-based Maritime Information Systems AS MARIS.

The new product line includes:

— RAPIDTRACK— Simplified Voyage Data Recorder (S-VDR) with either a Hardened Capsule or a Float Free 406 Memory Capsule.

— ECDITRACK— Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), which offers a total navigation situation appraisal on one integrated display, including charts and, when integrated, ARPA radar and AIS, thus eliminating the need to move between instruments.

— PILOTRACK— The PILOTRACK? is a real-time harbor pilot navigation tool based on ECDIS software with enhanced log, annotation and data update features that allows harbor pilots to work wirelessly through a bluetooth-enabled laptop and a special bluetooth transceiver plugged into a ship’s AIS through the pilot plug

— RADARTRACK— PC Radar Kit. An ARPA radar overlay allows users to turn their PC into advanced radar and tracking system.
