Dealer certification to be launched at MRAA Convention

OAK PARK, Ill. – Twenty-one marine dealerships are now in the process of becoming certified through the Grow Boating Initiative’s new program, which will be made available to marine dealerships nationwide at the Marine Retailers Association of America Convention in November, the group reported in a recent statement.

These pilot dealerships range in size from less that $5 million dollars to over $100 million dollars in annual sales volume and have employees numbering from 10 to over 150.

“Dealers fully understand the need to create a better experience for our consumers and want to become certified in order to do that,” commented Phil Keeter, MRAA president. “The Grow Boating Initiative will identify those dealers who are committed to presenting a better environment for our customers and the dealers fully realize and have accepted that fact.”

Larry Russo, Russo Marine, chairman of the Dealers Standards and Quality Task Force of the Grow Boating Initiative, said, “The acceptance of the program by the twenty-one (21) dealers to become certified is very gratifying for those of us on the Task Force. What we helped to create has been accepted and now we look forward to presenting it to the entire industry.”

The initial participants in the dealer certification process are taking steps to become certified by this October. The program will be introduced to all industry retailers at the MRAA Convention, November 8-10, in Las Vegas.
