New boating access association formed

SEATTLE – Shoreline contractors in Washington have banded together to form a new association, named SPOCA, within the Northwest Marine Trade Association to represent the interests of shoreline waterfront property owners and contractors, NMTA reported in a recent statement.

SPOCA’s primary concerns are the tightening regulations that are restricting water access, delaying projects and unfairly limiting property owner’s rights, according to NMTA.

The group has proposed a meeting at Seahawk Stadium on September 15th, inviting thousands of waterfront property owners to attend and participate with the organization.

SPOCA intends to attract funding primarily for legal support, lobbying efforts and scientific studies, it reported.

Those seeking more information can contact Holly Whitemarsh, NMTA director of government affairs, at 206-634-0911 or holly@nmta.net.
