ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Recreational Boating Fishing Foundation will promote its Take Me Fishing campaign during National Fishing and Boating Week, June 4-12.
To encourage family boating, the group is sponsoring a “Memories on the Water” video contest, which launches June 2 on Facebook. During the month of June, visitors to the Take Me Fishing Facebook page will be able to submit a short video showcasing a memorable moment on the water. Judges will narrow the selection to 10 videos, and then open it to a public vote. One grand prize winner will be selected, earning a trip for four to his or her choice of: Orlando, Fla.; Lake Michigan; Yellowstone in Montana; or New Orleans, La.
“By launching the contest during National Fishing and Boating Week, we hope to inspire others to join in the celebration and take advantage of many of the events being held nationwide, as well as the free fishing days many states have,” said RBFF President and CEO Frank Peterson. “It’s also a time to reconnect with friends and family and learn how fishing and boating participation contributes to conservation efforts.”
The videos can be cute, thrilling, sentimental or funny, but should show friends and family enjoying either boating or fishing-related activities.
