KENNESAW, Ga. – Yamaha Marine University has released the dates and locations for its 2008 three-day symposium titled Competitive Advantages, the company said this morning.
This year’s YMU Symposium will take place Nov. 11-13 in Orlando, Fla. and Dec. 9-11 in Las Vegas, Nev. Yamaha dealers can now enroll through YMU Online by going through the Yamaha Marine Business System.
“Now more than ever it is critical for Yamaha dealers to attend Symposium,” said Martin Peters, communication and dealer education manager, Yamaha Marine Group. “Most dealers are feeling the pinch of a tough market and the forum created by Symposium allows them to get to the bottom of their challenges. In addition, Yamaha has once again enlisted the help of top marine industry instructors to facilitate the program and share their expert insight into areas including finance, sales, service, marketing and human resources.”
YMU’s Competitive Advantages Symposium was launched in 2007 with the intention of helping Yamaha dealers achieve higher profitability and CSI levels by creating competitive advantages throughout the dealership. Symposium 2007 attracted a record number of Yamaha dealer attendees, many of whom have implemented the best practices they learned during Symposium and have thus increased the profitability and productivity of their dealerships.
“We have made several changes … implementing an employee handbook, increasing production from the service department and better explanation to our customers,” Stephanie Kinnear of Reo Marine said in describing the benefits her dealership received from attending. “I have had several customers comment on how organized Reo Marine has been this season.”
