Two Yamaha outboards recognized by consumer magazine

KENNESAW, Ga. – Two Yamaha outboards, the Yamaha V MAX Series 2 VZ250 and the Yamaha V MAX Series 2 VZ300 have been awarded a Consumers Digest “Best Buy” rating in the August 2008 issue of the Consumers Digest publication, Yamaha reported in a release yesterday.

“We are pleased the editors of Consumers Digest have chosen the V MAX Series 2,” said Dale Barnes, Yamaha Marine Group marketing division manager. “Yamaha is particularly proud to be the only brand recognized in the 200-hp-and-up category. This is an endorsement for the efforts we have made to refine and improve our V MAX line.”

In determining the ratings, the editors of Consumers Digest considered design, efficiency, performance and price, Yamaha said.

“During our testing, this engine took a 21-foot bass boat from zero to 30 mph in 3 seconds and to 70 mph in about 15 seconds,” Yamaha quoted the editors of Consumers Digest as saying of the V MAX Series 2 VZ250 in the August issue.
