Yamaha folds marine products to Yamalube brand

KENNESAW, Ga. – Yamaha Marine Group has put its marine care products under the Yamalube brand, the company said in a press release yesterday.

Products affected include fuel additives, adhesives and lubricants, which will now bear the name Yamalube. With the change comes color-coded packaging designed to improve the customer’s ability to choose the correct product for the job at hand. For example, Yamalube 4M will include an image of a four-stoke outboard, while Yamalube 2M will include an image of a two-stoke outboard.

Yamaha is creating and launching an extensive campaign for dealers and customers as part of the rollout, including easily identifiable in-store display materials.

The Marine Group also rolled out a new four-stroke (4M) marine engine oil formulation. Yamalube 4M engine oils, both 10W-30 and 20W-40, now have a low-phosphorus formulation that is fortified with molybdenum compounds, which reduce wear caused by the sudden changes in engine speed common to four-stroke marine engines.
