BoatFix donates tarps for hurricane repairs

MAYS LANDING, N.J. – Online marine retailer BoatFix, Inc., has supplied over 1,300 tarps to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for temporary roof repairs to help Florida residents stay dry after Hurricane’s Charley and Frances, the company said in a release today.

BoatFix arranged for a dedicated 18-wheeler to deliver the tarps to the Corps well in advance of the predicted landfall of Hurricane Ivan, which currently threatens the U.S., to facilitate the installation of the temporary roof repairs prior to any additional major rainfall.

“Luckily we had significant inventory available in preparation for winter boat storage,” said George Van Parys, BoatFix president. “We made it all available to the Corps to do our small part to help with the hurricane relief effort. New inventory will be in stock soon, however.”
