MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – Over 22,000 newcomers to sailing have requested Discover Sailing videos and DVD’s, according to a press release today from Sail America.
“We’re thrilled that Sail America receives an average of close to 200 requests a week for the Discover Sailing DVDs – a testimony to the continued strength of a campaign that has found a unique and effective way to give newcomers the information they need to make sailing a permanent part of their lifestyle,” said Scot West, Sail America executive director.
Sail America’s campaign to ask national magazines and Web sites to donate remnant advertising space has paid off recently in a big way with large advertisements in the August issue of National Geographic’s Adventure magazine and in Cruising World.
“We’d like to thank these prominent national magazines that have helped us extend the reach of our campaign,” West said.
Sail America has produced a special CD-ROM with Discover Sailing advertising that members can customize to add their own company logos and feature the Discover Sailing campaign on their company Web sites, newsletters, advertising and publications.
