Torstar purchases Boating Business
TORONTO, ONTARIO, Canada – Torstar Corp. has completed the purchase of J.H. Robinson Publishing Ltd. and Silva Litho Solutions Inc. for a purchase price of approximately $6 million, subject to a working capital adjustment, the company reported in a statement today.
J.H. Robinson Publishing Ltd., through its Formula Publications division, is the publisher of The Car Guide, The Boat Guide and Boating Business, in addition to the Toronto International Auto Show Program, The Toronto International Boat Show Program, The Halifax Boat Show Guide and a number of publications for CAA and various retail customers.
Silva Litho Solutions Inc., a related company, is a high-tech digital printing company.
The acquired companies will be operated by Torstar’s wholly owned subsidiary, Metroland Printing, Publishing & Distributing Ltd. These acquisitions support Metroland’s strategy of growth by providing services to readers and advertisers in the Southern Ontario market, according to the company.
Torstar Corp. is a media company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TS.B). Its businesses include newspapers led by the Toronto Star; CityMedia Group, publishers of daily and community newspapers in Southwestern Ontario; Metroland Printing, Publishing & Distributing, publishers of more than 60 community newspapers in Southern Ontario; and Harlequin Enterprises, a global publisher of women’s fiction.
