Renaissance sees a 24 percent sales increase
CLARKSON, Wash. — Renaissance Marine Group, Inc. reported record third quarter sales for its Duckworth and Weldcraft aluminum sport and fishing boats, with total sales for the nine months ended September 30 up 24 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, according to a statement from the company yesterday.
This sales growth continues the strong trend earlier reported for the first half of 2002, said the company. Total revenues for the third quarter were also up almost 27 percent compared to the same period last year.
“Retail sales of our two brands (Duckworth and Weldcraft) remain exceptionally strong this fall,” said James E. Moore, president of Renaissance Marine Group, Inc. “Dealers report continued sales and deliveries this fall, including many of the boats they had planned to take to early 2004 boat shows. Together with recent additions to our dealer network, we are seeing increased dealer orders and order backlogs in preparation for the 2004 show season.”
According to Moore, consumers’ early acceptance of the company’s new models, along with an expanding dealer network attribute to his belief that Renaissance will continue to see sales growth in 2004.
“Plans are underway to increase production by at least another 25 percent for 2004,”said Moore. “At the present time we are actively hiring new production workers so we can have them trained by the time demand peaks in the early spring. Our increased capacity will allow us to continue our careful expansion of a quality dealer network.”
