“With the acquisition of Torqeedo, the global market leader for electric mobility on the water, we are taking the next step in our Marine CASE Strategy for 2024. Torqeedo’s years of expertise provide us with expert support in driving the electrification of our marine applications to make an important contribution to a zero-emission shipping industry,” says Toshiaki Ibata, Senior Executive Officer, Chief Director of Marine Business Operations Yamaha Motor.
Wow this was a interesting surprise to hear. This is more evidence for the growing market of e-motors. Torqueedo was on it way as it was. But this merger will now place Torqueedo into the top of its markets. And of course it will be exciting now to watch Yamaha make its moves into the E-motor market. Hang on folks, lots of exciting moves are in store as there seems to be no stops in the E-motor market. Many people are waiting to see more improvements in the battery market and the higher horsepower end. Looks like there will be a day when you have complete silence on a saturday afternoon at the lake.
