Winkel appointed GM at Southwest Florida Yachts
NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. – Southwest Florida Yachts has promoted Marc Winkel to general manager, responsible for overseeing operations for yacht chartering and the Florida Sailing and Cruising School, the company said in a press release yesterday.
Winkel’s responsibilities now include supervising maintenance needs and maintenance staff for the company’s power and sailing fleets, readying new vessels for charter, checking out charterers before departure and orienting live aboard yacht school students when they arrive.
Before this promotion Winkel was fleet maintenance manager. He joined Southwest Florida Yachts in 1987 as charter fleet dock supervisor. He continues to be based at the company’s headquarters at Marinatown Marina in North Fort Myers.
