Premier Marine expands its U.S. business
VANCOUVER, BC, Canada – Premier Marine, a managing general agent in the insurance industry, has named its first U.S. employee in an effort to expand its yacht insurance business in the Northwestern United States, the company reported in a recent statement.
Holly Whitemarsh will serve as the company’s Northwest field representative, leading the Seattle office. Whitemarsh spent the last three years as the director of Government Affairs for the Northwest Marine Trade Association, the producers of the Seattle Boatshow.
Premier Marine President Troy Moreira stated, “We have grown so quickly since first offering coverage in the States that we needed to create this Field Representative position to assure that our brokers are being taken care of, and that new brokers could have access to the unbeatable insurance products that we offer for boaters.” Moreira continued, “Holly’s connection to the boating industry in Washington is going to be a real benefit as we attempt to increase our distribution force in the Northwest.”
Premier Marine was founded 17 years ago and today is the largest boat and yacht insurer in Canada, according to the company. It has been offering yacht coverage through independent brokers in the Washington for over eight years and also writes policies in Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Premier’s policies are underwritten by Lloyd’s, who carries an ‘A’ security rating from the A.M. Best Company, Premier reported.
