Marine Service Technician Week April 20-24, 2026
The American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC) is encouraging the marine industry to celebrate the fifth annual International Marine Service Technician Week later this month, April 20-24, 2026. The week recognizes the skill, professionalism and commitment of marine service technicians.
“Mark your calendars and start planning how you will celebrate the hardworking technicians who play such an important role across the boating industry,” said Shannon Aronson, ABYC senior director of marketing and communications, in a news release. “We also encourage boaters to take a moment to thank the techs who help keep their time on the water safe and enjoyable.”
Each day of International Marine Service Technician Week, ABYC will celebrate marine technicians from a variety of backgrounds, offer technical challenges with prizes and provide online educational opportunities, according to the organization.
ABYC encourages businesses to tie into the following daily themes through their social media efforts:
- Monday, April 20 – Master Technicians
- Tuesday, April 21 – Marine Service Programs and Schools
- Wednesday, April 22 – Female Technicians
- Thursday, April 23 – Outstanding Technician Announcements (Share your own outstanding tech)
- Friday, April 24 – The Future of the Industry: Aspiring Technicians and Educators
“In addition to social media posts, businesses have hosted special events such as picnics, taco buffets and ice cream socials to have some fun during the week,” Aronson said in the release.
