AMI announces 2023 keynote speaker

Marilyn Sherman, a national and international motivational speaker and book author, will deliver the
opening keynote address at the Association of Marina Industries (AMI) Conference & Expo, scheduled for January 30 – February 1, 2023, at the Ocean Center, Daytona Beach, FL. Her presentation, sponsored by Suntec Marinas, “Front Row Leadership: How Top Performers Never Settle For Balcony Seats,” will be Tuesday, January 31, 2022, at 9 a.m.

Marilyn is dedicated to training people to let go of obstacles and live and work with courage, commitment, and confidence. For the last 22 years, she has motivated audiences around the world, speaking and writing on topics about hope and inspiration and sharing practical tools to implement immediately.

With clients in government, corporations and hospitality, Marilyn is known for giving people success strategies to overcome obstacles, have a more positive mindset, and reduce conflict in the workplace. Her live presentations and her accompanying motivational books have been described as ‘life-changing’. Marilyn is the author of several motivational books including her latest on goal setting released this year called “Is There A Hole In Your Bucket List?”. Marilyn is a Certified Speaking Professional, the highest earned designation in the speaking profession with only 12% of speakers worldwide holding this designation.

“As the industry continues to grow and evolve, it is clear we can all benefit from leadership strategies that will help us to increase sales, increase employee engagement, motivate our teams, and yield bigger results,” says AMI Chair John Swick, CMM. “Marilyn’s session will provide tips and strategies for not only being a high-performer but developing a team of high-performers. As we look to the future of our industry, it is critical that we have a solid succession plan that includes building the next generation of marina industry leaders. We are excited to have Marilyn at the Conference & Expo to share her expertise and provide guidance on how we can be better at doing this.”

Immediately following the keynote address, Marilyn will deliver a 60-minute breakout session, “Communicating for Results: from Conflict to Cooperation,” where she will expand on her keynote and provide tools for keeping your cool when confronting others—or when you’re being confronted by someone else—and doing so in a way that will not alienate or divide but bring people together.
