Boaters can access marine service contractors with SHIPSHAPE.PRO
Endeavoring to become a trusted online marine community, SHIPSHAPE.PRO is designed to help boaters find reliable marine service professionals, when and where they are needed.
“We are on a mission to provide all stakeholders of the marine industry with their very own online marketplace,” says Merrill Charette, co-founder of SHIPSHAPE. “Whether you are a marine enthusiast, a boat owner, or a professional marine service provider, you will have access to a multitude of features that will help you make good your course.”
With a rapidly growing database of over 2,000 marine professionals, sorted by category of service, SHIPSHAPE enables boat owners to browse through all marine service professionals in their vicinity for the services they require.
Conversely, carrying on the tradition of word of mouth referrals, SHIPSHAPE makes it easier for marine professionals to establish their credibility based on reviews posted by boaters. A boat owner who has used the services of a particular service business, has the ability to write a review and post pictures of their serviced boat.
According to Talha Bhatty, co-founder of SHIPSHAPE: “We have always wanted to play our part in bringing more boats on the water. And these boats should not just remain docked. Fellow boaters should be able to weigh anchor and cast off with ease, as and when they desire.”
Bhatty and Charette also run United Marine Systems, a general contracting business, and are also known for their “Dinghy Thingy” – a portable, multifunctional utility kit, which includes a battery, a bilge pump, a solar charger and speakers among other things – purpose-built to optimize space on dinghies.
Boaters and marine professionals can choose from a range of free and paid subscriptions with features that include a comprehensive list of marine trade categories, a messaging system, a real time map that produces relevant search results within a given radius, the ability to post boat details, photographs and more.
