Boatsetter makes key executive appointments

Boatsetter, the online peer-to-peer boat rental marketplace, has made two executive-level appointments.

Christian Martinez has been named chief operating officer and Julien Geffriaud, chief growth officer. Jaclyn Baumgarten, CEO and company co-founder, made the announcement.

Reporting to the CEO, Martinez oversees Boatsetter’s day-to-day business operations and long-term strategy and goals.

He will direct traditional, digital, programmatic, mobile and eCommerce corporate efforts. He comes to Boatsetter from Facebook, where he was the country director for Mexico and, previously, its head of US multicultural sales. Prior, he was a regional VP of network TV and interactive sales for Univision Communications.

Geffriaud is responsible for leveraging customer insights, product analytics and marketing performance data to create new product features. He is a mobile growth expert with experience in generation strategy and campaign optimization for large, multinational advertisers.

Prior to joining Boatsetter, Geffriaud served as CMO for Noverde, a Brazilian-based financial startup, and was head of growth at 99Taxis, the first start-up in Latin America valued at over $1 billion U.S.

“It’s a privilege to have world-class talent joining our company’s leadership team as we grow and scale to become the global leader in providing the best in on-the-water experiences,” Baumgarten said.

Selected by Boating Industry magazine as as one of the industry’s top movers and shakers in 2014, Baumgarten works passionately to grow boating.

With over 600 locations, Fort Lauderdale-based Boatsetter connects owners and licensed captains with people who share their love of the water. It forms strategic partnerships with boatbuilders, marinas and related marine businesses to grow boating participation and ownership.
